Besides presenting great documentary films, Salem Film Fest offers a rich schedule of discussions, parties, galas, meet-and-greets, family-friendly screenings, high school and college student film showcases, and opportunities to meet visiting filmmakers in intimate settings. Many of these special events are free, but space may be limited, so make sure to come early.

The National Park Service is hosting its own Film Festival and offers free showings of six films in support of its partners and the 2016 Salem Film Festival. Each film is a reflection of a national park or national heritage area location from around the country. Films will be available March 3rd - 10th at the Salem Visitor Center, 2 New Liberty Street. Free.

After the first full day of the festival, you'll have the opportunity to hang and discuss films in The Tavern at the Hawthorne Hotel. Meet a filmmaker, quench your thirst, and drink in the fun festival atmosphere at one of Salem's favorites.
Join us for a spirited discussion with local filmmakers as they pitch their upcoming documentary films to a panel of industry members in a competition before a live audience, in which you have a vote!
Salem Film Fest hosts its annual Saturday night blast at Sea Level Oyster Bar, sure to get you up and dancing in Salem’s newest most comfortably stylish waterfront restaurants. Oysters, lobster rolls, specialty cocktails & more offered in a casual joint with water views. Or simply enjoy the awesome view of Salem Harbor at night.
Entertainment will be provided by the A-Beez featuring Sarah Seminski. Soul. Funk. Real; The A-Beez are a Boston based music collective with its roots in soul, funk, and R&B. (9:15pm – 12:30am).

The Audience Award winner will be announced at the closing night reception immediately following the final screening of Salem Film Fest at PEM.
