In the 1960s, Ric O'Barry trained dolphins for the television series "Flipper."  His close relationship with those dolphins led O'Barry to realize these sensitive, intelligent creatures should never be subjected to human captivity.
Under cover of night, in a remote, glistening cove in Taiji, Japan, fishermen driven by a multi-billion dollar dolphin entertainment industry and a market for dolphin meat, engage in an unseen hunt. With the local police hot on their trail, O'Barry helps recruit a team of underwater experts, special effects artists, marine explorers and adrenaline junkies to carry out an undercover operation to photograph the cove. This provocative mix of investigative journalism, eco-adventure and arresting imagery adds up to an urgent plea for hope.
