B.I.K.E.

Bike

Two filmmakers infiltrate an underground bicycle club.

Directors Jacob Sepitmus and Anthony Howard create a gritty, conceptually dichotomous and visually stylistic film with B.I.K.E. The film is a depiction of the Brooklyn chapter of the Black Label Bike Club (BLBC), a fringe network of tall bike jousters that combine and justify their medieval inspired competitions withenvironmentalist and anti-consumerist rhetoric and politically radical ideals.

Taking place in the context of the Republican National Convention, Fountainhead Films’ B.I.K.E. is a riveting look into the ways in which identity is important for a collective of fiercely independent people.

"Heads break, necks crack, drugs are consumed in mass quantities, and the inherent contradictions of radical individualists attempting to maintain a group identity implode in an absolutely fascinating tour of a modern netherworld." BOX OFFICE

"Now here's a documentary about something most of the world know nothing about, a slice of sociology arrestingly filmed, daringly cut and vividly revealed." ORLANDO SENTINEL

"A riveting look into a passionate subculture and the ways in which group identity is important for a collective of fiercely independent people who have rejected the insincerity, waste, and apathy of the dominant culture." MILLIMETER

"B.I.K.E. is a film that takes a jugular stab into a group of nonconforming bicycle cliques in New York City and elsewhere that are living off-the-grid. Black Label Bicycle Club reins supreme as the originators of what it is to be a tall bicycle gang. Founded in Minneapolis almost two decades ago as Hard Times Bike Club (HTBC), they became Black Label after run-ins with Hell!s Angels (HABC) over the all too-close-for-comfort acronym." ANTHEM
