Sponsorship

The Salem Film Fest is becoming a major cultural event in New England, and sponsoring businesses and organizations are a big reason why. Their support allows the festival to bring in the best documentary cinema – and filmmakers – from around the globe. Sponsors enjoy being affiliated with an all-volunteer, week-long celebration of memorable and life-changing films, and audiences remember this important contribution to the community year-round.

Major Sponsors

Major sponsors (contributions of $2500-5000) enjoy a pervasive positive presence throughout the festival – on the movie screen before each showtime, in the program, on posters, in the official program, and throughout the theater, as well as on this website. Already this year, Peabody Essex Museum and The Salem Waterfront Hotel and Suites have made early commitments to be major sponsors of the festival.

Event Sponsors

Event sponsors ($1000) enjoy the opportunity to underwrite special venues and events during the festival, including the gala Oscar Night Celebration, the VIP Reception, and important and crowded venues like the CinemaSalem Café and The Screening Room.

Individual Film Underwriter

Perhaps the most unique Salem Film Fest sponsorship is the Individual Film Underwriter ($250), which represents a completely new model for American film festivals. This innovation allows progressive businesses and organizations to fully sponsor the screening of one of the beautiful and challenging documentaries in the festival lineup, creating a powerful connection between the film and the sponsor which film lovers notice. These sponsorships are so positive, affordable, and effective that, during the first two years of the festival, all underwriter sponsorships have completely sold out!

Some underwriters get involved simply because they love great film, and others make the commitment because they share the passion and message of a specific documentary, and want the community to share that experience.

There are relatively few films to sponsor, and the roster of underwriters is spreading throughout the Boston region, so if you’re interested in underwriting, it makes sense to act fast. Already this year, Cabot Money Management, Bewitched in Salem, Treasures over Time, Salem Community Arts Center, Gulu Gulu Café, Wire 4 Hire, Kensington-Stobart Gallery, Salem Sounds, Art Throb, the Hawthorne Hotel, Kensington-Stobart Gallery, Salem Cycle, and Front Street Coffeehouse have committed to sponsor specific films, and several more sponsors are in the pipeline.
