16 BARS

Directed by Sam Bathrick

A Richmond, Virginia jail is home to a makeshift recording studio where Grammy-winning recording artist, Todd “Speech” Thomas, collaborates with inmates in a unique rehabilitation effort that involves writing and recording their original music. 16 BARS is an intimate look at how four men try to escape their cycle of recidivism by engaging in a creative process that forces them to confront painful memories from the past.
