THE DISTANT BARKING OF DOGS

Directed by Simon Lereng Wilmont

Orphaned 10-year-old Oleg and his devoted grandmother live in the deserted Eastern Ukrainian war-zone because they have nowhere else to go. They try to maintain a normal life while anti-aircraft fire and missile strikes reverberate nearby. The film follows Oleg throughout a year, witnessing a gradual erosion of his innocence and unveiling the consequences of a childhood lived in the shadow of war.
