THE MONEY STONE

Directed by Stuart Harmon

Hundreds of feet beneath the jungles of impoverished west-African Ghana, thousands dig raw gold that feeds an insatiable global industry. Two Ghanaian teens and their struggling families face stark choices: either pay for their schooling or work in the dangerous gold mines. Their dramatic stories shed a light on the brutalities of an outlaw industry and the financial and cultural obstacles to creating a better path for the younger generations through education.
