Five-Minute Student Documentary Contest
Entering its thirteenth year, the Five-Minute Student Documentary Contest is an innovative and fun celebration of young Massachusetts High School student filmmakers. The doc genre is wide and varied and is open to all kinds of creative approaches.
The Top Ten films will be screened on Saturday, March 21 at 10am, at CinemaSalem, and cash prizes of $100, $50, and $25 will be awarded to the top three films. The competition is limited to works that are less than five minutes in duration, and which have been produced in 2019 and 2020.
THE FINE PRINT
-entries must be produced by high school students, either individuals or groups
-competition is limited to new work, produced during the years 2019 or 2020
-entries must be five minutes or shorter in duration
-all forms of documentary are welcome
-entries may be submitted as Quicktime digital files (SD or HD) on a flash drive or data disk
-entries must be accompanied by an entry form including these six things:
1) name of filmmaker(s)
2) contact information, including email and telephone number
3) name of high school or arts organization
4) title of film
6) a short synopsis
-no unauthorized use of copyrighted images or music is allowed
-submission deadline is February 1, 2020. There is no entry fee!
-your submission grants us permission to post your entry (with attribution) to the web
-entries will be judged by a panel of filmmakers and production professionals
